Issue:

1. SharePoint – Manage User Properties page showing error “Your search encountered an error. If the problem persists, contact the portal site administrator”
2. User Profile Synchornisation Status stuck at “Stopping”
3. Event 6398 (SharePoint Foundation) of severity ‘Critical’ occurred 5 more time(s) and was suppressed in the event log Error keep throwing in the Windows Application Log

Resolution:

Access to Server that is running the User Profile Services. Go to “Services” (services.msc) and start “Forefront Identity Manager Service” service!
