If you’re not using AI development tools, you’re already falling behind

I’ve been exploring and experimenting with GitHub Copilot, testing different models. Some are exceptionally expensive—3x the cost—while others are more affordable (1x or 0.3x). I’ve been working to balance the tasks with the depth each model can provide. Over time, I’ve gotten the hang of it and found myself blending naturally into this new era of AI‑assisted programming.

I’ve been experimenting beyond just Python—often diving into technologies I barely understand or had never even heard of before. Yet, with just a few simple prompts, I can produce content that reads like it was written by a seasoned professional in minutes.

Undeniably, this will change the way programmers write code. The need to fully understand syntax is fading—though occasionally you’ll still need it when the AI gets a little confused. And yes, it will happen, especially with models that prioritize raw performance over deeper reasoning for complex tasks.

What really takes things to the next level is when I stumbled upon an open‑source project called SQUAD, created by Bradlygaster. With the right setup and instructions, its Agent mode elevates the experience to a level I’ve never seen before.

In summary, SQUAD forms a virtual team by creating members with the right skill sets. Each agent is pre‑configured with the necessary skills and context, ensuring they perform their tasks as intended. No more guessing, no more assumptions—everything is aligned to deliver exactly what’s needed.

I can’t imagine returning to the days of battling syntax errors, endlessly combing through SDK documentation just to find the right method, or struggling with deployment issues that seemed impossible to resolve. Back then, digging through Stack Overflow was often the only lifeline—hoping someone else had faced the same problem. Programming felt far lonelier than it does today.

One more thing: the Squad doesn’t just track where you left off. With a simple prompt like “Hey, what’s next for this project?” you’ll get a structured analysis and an implementation plan that guides you forward.

So here’s the verdict: if you’re still not using GitHub Copilot’s Agent mode, what are you waiting for?

Bonus: They just finished off their sprint few mins ago LOL 🤣
